Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Garden State Animal Rescue Center!
While we currently have a physical adoption facility, we operate primarily as a Foster-Based Organization. We rely on our volunteers to help provide the best care possible for our animals.

All volunteers must be at least 13 years old to become a volunteer at the GSARC. If you would like to volunteer and are under the age of 18, this is the final decision of the Administrative Staff.
2. All volunteers are required to complete and pass a background check issued by the GSARC.
3. Pay one time $25 Volunteer Fee.
This fee covers your background check, volunteer t-shirt, and photo ID. Payment will be accepted at the end of orientation in the form of cash, check, or credit card. Do NOT make any payments until/ unless directed by Administrative Staff. Click here for the payment link.
4. Train with a mentor (Staff or Volunteer) and learn the basic needs throughout the rescue.

2. Attend New Volunteer Orientation.
Orientations are held once a month. This orientation is currently hybrid and may occur either web-based or in-person and will cover basics about our organization and more information on the volunteer process.
New volunteers will start learning from one of our experienced staff members so they get acclimated with our organization, staff, and other volunteers!
After you complete your training, meet with Administrative Staff to discuss your interests and find your best fit in the organization!
Our volunteers help out in areas such as adoptions, events, outreaches, dog walking, cat socialization and more!
