Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Garden State Animal Rescue Center!
Since we are currently a Foster-Based Organization, we rely on our volunteers to help provide the best care possible for our animals.
Join us in fulfilling our mission to advocate for all animals across New Jersey!
All volunteers must be at least 18 years old to volunteer on their own. (Not 18 but still want to help? Click here) If you would like to volunteer between the ages of 16 and 18, you must be accumpanied by an adult.
All volunteers are required to complete and pass a background check issued by the GSARC.
All volunteers must commit to at least 6 months of volunteer work with a minimum of 8 service hours per month.
1. Fill out the GSARC Volunteer Application.
Please be honest with your answers and consider whether or not volunteering with us is the right fit for you! If accepted, you will be contacted with the next appropriate steps.
2. Attend New Volunteer Orientation.
Orientations are held once a month. This orientation is currently web-based and will cover basics about our organization and more information on the volunteer process.
New volunteers will start learning from one of our experienced staff members so they get acclimated with our organization, staff, and other volunteers!
After you complete your training, meet with the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss your interests and find your best fit in the organization!
Our volunteers help out in areas such as adoptions, events, outreaches, dog walking, cat socialization and more!
